ABOUT US...........

The new Bay County Christian Youth Choir (ages 13-18) rehearses every Sunday afternoon from 3:30 to 5:00 at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall in downtown Panama City (100 E. 7th Street). Check us out!

The Bay County Christian Youth Choir, Inc., an independent interdenominational youth choir, is established under the conviction that the future of congregational participation in the music of the church lies in the training and nurturing of its youth and children. The choir has the goals of teaching choir members (i) to speak and sing in public, (ii) the experience of performing locally and on choir tours, (iii) how to work together to achieve goals that can only be achieved collectively, (iv) the discipline of making a long-term commitment and the rewards of hard work,(v) how to "get along" with fellow choir members and (vi) skills that enable the choir members to be what God has called us all to be: worshipers of Him.

The choir sings a mixture of classical choral literature, traditional hymn arrangements, spirituals as well as contemporary praise and worship songs, and each choir member will have a speaking part during the tour program. Each tour program is thematic, with the songs and speaking parts tied together by this theme. There will be Bible devotions throughout the year during choir rehearsal, and on tour the choir will view teaching videos on the bus and participate in Bible studies throughout the tour.

The choir will sing five times throughout the year at area churches, and it will also sing at three community events. The choir tour this year (June 9/10 through June 18) will culminate in San Antonio and Austin, Texas, with stops along the way including Baton Rouge and Dallas-Ft.Worth. We will sing at churches, retirement homes, rehabilitation centers and/or rescue missions. One of the activities will be the Schlitterbahn Waterpark near San Antonio, one of the best waterparks in the United States. We are also looking into a ranch experience for the choir members. The tour program theme this year is on “The Church” with Bible studies featuring themes from the book of Ephesians. During tour, lodging is provided through “homestays” provided by area churches or motels. The total cost will be in the $300 to $500 range, and that cost will cover ALL expenses (lodging, activities, food, etc.) except for five or six “fast-food” type meals. Scholarships will be available for anyone that needs assistance in paying for the tour fees. The expense of the choir tour is NEVER a reason to not participate in the choir; we will work to provide scholarships!

The Bay County Christian Youth Choir, Inc. is a not-for-profit Florida corporation. The Board of Directors consist of men and women that are successful in their chosen vocations, and they also have been involved in past youth choirs, many acting as chaperons (or piano and guitar players) during tours. The Board brings years of experience and enthusiasm to this new venture of providing an independent interdenominational Christian youth choir to Bay County.

Membership in the choir is open to any interested student, and no choir member is required to subscribe to the below statement of belief. However, all Board members must consent to the following confession of faith adopted by the National Association of Evangelicals:
• We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
• We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
• We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
• We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
• We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
